Viagra treats erectile dysfunction by increasing the blood flow to the penis. Viagra is an PDE5 Inhibitor, which reduces the effect of nitric oxide when producing an erection and, thus, restoring the body's natural sexual response. Specialists say that Viagra works best taken on empty stomach, which means that sexual intercourse needs to be priory planned and sometimes sexual spontaneity is reduced.

After taking Viagra, the arteries in the penis relax and widen, which allows more blood flow into the penis. Consequently, the penis becomes hard and erect and the veins carrying blood away from the penis becomes compressed, keeping thus the penis firm.

The drug is taken by mouth between 4hours and 30 minutes before initiating sexual activity(most recommended is 1 hour before), not more than once daily. It is compulsory to have sexual stimulation, otherwise taking the pill has no effect whatsoever. Without sexual activity the body naturally eliminates the drug over a 6 to 10 hour period.
